Each year, thousands of people from all over the world come to Alive and enjoy 3 days of music, camping, and more. However, it all couldn’t happen without the help of our amazing volunteers. If you’re interested in joining the A-Team at Alive this summer, we’d love your help!
The A-Team is what we call our awesome volunteers!
They work all over the festival for all three days to support the festival staff and attendees and ensure that everyone has an incredible, fun, and safe experience at Alive. As a member of the A-Team, you could be doing anything from selling a band’s merch, to keeping an eye on various entry points, to greeting everyone as they come and go throughout the park. It’s all up to you and what your personal interests are!
All A-Team members will receive admission to Alive and you can enjoy the festival whenever you’re not working. You’ll also get the official A-Team t-shirt, and free showers. Most importantly, you’ll get the sense of being a part of something special—the experience of working at a major music festival, and playing a huge part in everyone’s experience! Not to mention, you’ll make memories and friendships that will last a lifetime.
Just follow these 7 steps and you’ll be good to go!

Enjoy the experience and do it all over again next year!
We ask that all volunteers serve for all three days of the festival, and on the day before if they are willing. We do not accept single day or two day volunteers.
All members of the A-Team are permitted admission to Alive and may enjoy the festival whenever they’re not working, a t-shirt to show everyone that you are part of the A-Team, and free showers!
Yes! When you fill out the A-Team Application, list the names of any friends or family you’d like to work with in the comments section at the end. It also helps to fill out the application at the same time and sooner than later. We can’t guarantee every shift together, but we’ll do our best to make it happen!
Shifts last 5-6 hours (depending on the team).
All volunteers receive free Tent Camping at Alive. All volunteers who work on Thursday can arrive starting Wednesday at 3 pm. If your first shift is Friday, you can arrive anytime on Thursday or before your shift on Friday.
If you’re a volunteer with an RV or Motor-home you can purchase one of our electric sites, here. Also, you’re welcome to commute each day if you live nearby and park for free in our one day parking area. You are welcome to join your friend or family’s campsite (make sure there’s room on their site).
Schedules will be released at least three weeks prior to when you are required to be on-site.
Unless you’ve volunteered in the past and done something wrong (or you’re under the age limit of 17 years old), you can pretty much guarantee that your application will be accepted. However, if there is an issue we come across we will address it and still reserve the right to deny your application. We do reserve the right to do a background check.
No! The $25 application fee and working your required shifts includes your admission to the festival. We do not refund tickets if you buy them before you find out if you have been confirmed into the A-Team. We cannot refund tickets once purchased so please do not buy with the intention of exchanging it for a volunteer wristband. Wristbands are provided to access the festival for your volunteer shifts.
It depends on which team you signed up for and when your shift starts. Regardless, though, you’ll need to go to Volunteer Check-In to get your wristband for the Full Event or for the day (if you’re a first-time volunteer).
Unfortunately not. We need all of our volunteers to commit to working for all three days of Alive.
Volunteers must be at least 17 years old* at the time of the festival. *Certain jobs require a minimum age of 18.
Any volunteer under the age of 18 will need an adult 18 or older to camp with them in the Volunteer Camping Area.
Volunteers are welcomed and encouraged to bring food and meals to their campsite. Food is not provided by the festival. We strongly encourage you to bring a water bottle with you to each shift. Food Vendors are available during the event as well and there is a grocery store within 25-30 minutes of the festival grounds.
Some jobs are only available if you are selected by certain Coordinators only. If you have one of those positions, please select “Recruited Position” in the Preferences area of the application.
For the safety of the volunteer, the young person, and our attendees, we do not allow persons under 17 to serve on staff or hang out with those who are working. If you’d like to serve, our suggestion would be to have someone you trust stay with your child while you are serving. If you can’t find someone to watch your kids, please do not sign up. Thank you!
Absolutely not! The A-Team is open to anyone and everyone. Just be sure to read the A-Team descriptions when they become available and choose a job that is a fit for you. The only team that truly requires heavy lifting is Stage Crew. If you get on site and don’t think you can handle a specific job, speak up and we’ll find something else for you to do.
Yes! As a member of the A-Team you are welcome to do whatever you choose with your free time as long as you show up on time and ready to work when scheduled. Being a volunteer though does mean that you may have to sacrifice some of your viewing time to do the job that you signed up for. A-Team members will have to work during at least one evening out of the three days.
Some of the teams are smaller and will fill up quickly. You will be assigned to your team within a couple weeks of confirming your application. The easiest way to give yourself the best chance of getting on your favorite team is to fill out your application as soon as possible.
While a medical background is ALWAYS appreciated on site, the A-Team does not outfit the medical tents with any volunteers.
The A-Team does not staff any of the technical staff with volunteers.

Safety and security is a top priority and Alive. The Security Team helps keep a safe environment for all guests by securing various entry points (in the Amphitheater or at the Main Gate).
