A-TEAM APPLICATION PROCESS

  • Fill out our 2017 A-Team Application (see below). You must be at least 17 years old by July 19th, 2017 to apply.
  • Applications will be available online until Monday, July 5th or until all of the volunteer positions are filled.
  • There is a $25 application fee in order to join the A-Team. This non-refundable fee includes your Volunteer Wristband, A-Team t-Shirt, & Hot Showers Wristband.
  • At this time we are only accepting total event volunteers. In order to volunteer, you must be able to work one shift each of the four days of the festival.
  • Unless we contact you, please know that your application has been approved. No news from us is good news, so please make sure your schedule is cleared for the entire event- July 19-21. You will be contacted by your Coordinator no later than June 1st.  They will provide you with all necessary information, your final schedule and answer any questions you may have.

A-TEAM JOB SELECTION

Our goal is to place you in your preferred job, and we’ll do our very best. However, we cannot guarantee a specific job placement. Below are the jobs we have available.

Guest Services: Welcome guests into the festival, place campers, park cars, answer any questions and help with security when needed.

Sanitation: Pick up trash, empty and replace trash cans and help the park remain clean throughout the week.

Security: Keep a safe environment for all guests, whether it’s in the Amphitheater or at the Main Gate.

Stage Crew: Assist in loading/unloading band gear and setting it up/tearing it down for the band performances. Earlier mornings and later nights are required — less busy during the daytime. *Must be male and able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.

Ticketing: Sell tickets, scan tickets and distribute wristbands, provide customer service and welcome guests into Alive.

Vending: Sell artist and/or Alive merchandise. *Must be at least 18 years old.*

Recruited Position: Only available for those who have been contacted by a Coordinator in an area we have not listed above.

A-TEAM GUIDELINES

Here are some general guidelines for while you’re serving at Alive:

  • Please take a minute to read our A-Team Code of Conduct.
  • Be sure to check in 15 minutes early to each of your shifts.
  • Check-in locations will vary depending on which A-Team area you are assigned to.
  • All Volunteer members are expected to be on time and wearing appropriate clothing for their shift.
  • When possible wear your A-Team t-shirt when you’re working and be sure to wear something else when you’re not.
  • For safety reasons, no open-toed shoes or sandals are permitted for Setup/Teardown or Stage Crew.
  • Think about the type of work that you’re going to be doing when deciding what to wear. Showing up in inappropriate clothing or without proper shoes could result in forfeiture of your Volunteer Wristband.
  • Be sure to bring sunscreen, a water bottle, and a snack, but not too much more as we won’t have anywhere to store your stuff and some jobs may not allow you to have a backpack of any kind while you’re working.
  • You’ll be taken from your check-in location by an A-Team Coordinator to where you’re going to be working.
  • Be sure to stay at your assigned location and work until you are either taken to another workplace or have been dismissed by your Coordinator or someone from the Alive staff.

A-TEAM FAQ

1. I would like to work with my friends, what do I need to do?

When you fill out the A-Team Application, list the names of any friends and/or family you’d like to work with in the comments section at the end. We will do our best to make those requests happen!

2. When will I be assigned a schedule?

Coordinators will assign schedules by June 15th. Make sure you give us the best email and call back number so we can get in contact with you.

3. Why is there a $25.00 volunteer application fee?

The application fee provides you with your Volunteer Wristband, Volunteer t-Shirt, and a Hot Showers Wristband with 5 showers.

4. Where do I stay when I serve at Alive?

All volunteers that work a minimum of 4 Days get free primitive camping in our volunteer camping area. If you are a volunteer with an RV or Motorhome you can purchase one of our electric sites, here. Additionally, you are welcome to commute each day if you live nearby.

5. What area can I serve in?

Alive involves the sacrifice of hundreds of volunteers like yourself to make the event happen and we have needs in many areas. The areas we are looking for help the most include: Guest Services, Ticketing, Set Up & Tear Down, Vending, Security, and Sanitation.

6. How old do I have to be to volunteer?

Volunteers must be at least 17 years old* at the time of the festival.

*Certain jobs require a minimum age of 18.

7. How old do I need to be to camp?

Any volunteer under the age of 18 will need an adult 18 or older to camp with them in the Volunteer Camping Area.

8. What do volunteers do for meals?

Volunteers are welcomed and encouraged to bring food and meals to their campsite. Food is not provided by the festival. We strongly encourage you to bring a water bottle with you to each shift. Food Vendors are available during the event as well and there is a grocery store within 25-30 minutes of the festival grounds.

9. I am a returning A-Team member and I don’t see my position I worked last year in the application?

Some jobs are by recruitment from Coordinators only. If you have one of those positions, please select “Recruited Position” in the Shift and Job Selection areas of the application.

10. My child is under 17 years old and not volunteering. May I have my child with me while I serve?

For the safety of the volunteer, the young person, and our attendees, we do not allow persons under 17 to serve on staff. We also can’t allow non-volunteers to ‘hang out’ with those who are working. For young ones, our suggestion would be to serve different shifts with someone you trust (other parent, friend, older sibling), so they are with your child if you desire to serve. If you can’t find someone, please do not sign up.
