Doo doo, Doo-doo doo, pink tux to the pro-o-o-om?
Alivers! Did you make it through the rain? I did. And it really cooled
everything off, didn't it? It was a beautiful day. A little rain is good.
Today was quite eventful and fun. I have a timeline for you. But before we
get to that, I must give honor to our "T-shirt of the Day." In keeping with
our theme from yesterday's shirt ("VIRGINITY ROCKS") I saw one today that
simply said, "I didn't do it." Short, but eloquent. I giggled.
Ok, Are you ready for the timeline?
1:00: I arrive at the festival. (I promised myself I'd mention those people
who direct traffic out in the field where everyone parks. Good job,
parkers, good job. You wave those flags proudly. I bet you don't get
thanked enough.) Anyway I arrive just in time to see some Aaron Shust at
the Woods Stage. It's amazing. His voice is great, isn't it? My Savior
loves, my Savior lives, my Savior's always there for me?
1:20: Catching some of The Wedding. Looks like a good time. [Later on, a woman in front of me heard that The Wedding was playing earlier, and she said, "There was a wedding here today?!" I chuckled to myself.]
2:04: The Afters are warming up at the main stage. There's a nice breeze
blowing. I am getting more pumped by the second to see the Afters' show. I
just spilled my bag of Oreos all in my cooler.
3:06: Taking a walk over to sit by the lake and rest for a bit. I'm
listening to the distant, yet beautiful sounds of Ayiesha Woods at the
Woods Stage. But then I hear the girl on the megaphone telling everyone to
get out of the lake because of lightening. I start getting excited. Rain
gives everyone more energy.
3:40: STORM TIME! I'm sinnnngin in the rain?. Hey, it's giving everyone a
chance to check out what's in some of the cool tents set up! And the storm passes quickly. I see the sun peeking through once again. Yesss.
4:15: AFTERS! Ok, are they not amazing??!? Probably my favorite act
yet. "Beautiful Love" is one of the prettiest songs ever.
6:47: I head over to the other side of the lake to see what some of the
swimmers are up to. I see some pretty talented divers. I begin to think
I'll bring my bathing suit tomorrow. Oh- and the sky has totally cleared
up. It's absolutely beautiful.
7:01: Taking a journey around the campground, we run into
friends Julie, Trent, and Tyler. They were very excited for Relient K, as
well as Switchfoot on Friday. Rock on, guys. Stay in school.
7:10: Head on over to the BarlowGirl show. I think they should've casted
BarlowGirl in Josie and the Pussycats. They would've done way better.
9:30: I see another T-shirt that makes me smile: "We're bringing Catholic
back." Hey, that is awesome. Catholic churches are beautiful. If you ask
me, Catholic never LEFT, baby.
9:31: Kutless is making everyone jump. Music gives people energy.
9:32: Since it's the third minute in a row that I've made an observation
and therefore the third time in a row that I've asked my friend for the
time, he not-so-nicely hints to me that perhaps I should get my own watch.
10:00: I get a funnel cake. No one can share. No one.
10:20: Perhaps I'll wear a pink tux to the prom?
Relient K rocked it out, just like all the other bands today. It was a
great day, and now it's time for some great rest. I'll be back tomorrow -
get your T-shirts ready, guys!
